Mailchimp newsletters

Configure your settings

In order to use the MailChimp newsletters you need to connect with your existing Mailchimp account:

  • Go to "Newsletters" > "Settings".
  • Click on the MailChimp logo.
  • You will be directed to MailChimp to login with your account credentials.

Your users will see the newsletter emails as being send from the email address and with the name found in "Calendar Settings" > "General" section. By default they are the email and name used when you signed up for a Timely account, but you can change them if you wish.

You will now be able to create your newsletters or send single emails.

Sending newsletters

  • Choose "Newsletter" under "Select type" field.
  • Check "Enable" to activate the newsletter or leave it unchecked if you plan to save it as a draft.
  • Select the Mailchimp list that you want this newsletter to be sent out to.
  • Choose the frequency of how often your newsletter will be sent out.
    • "Daily" newsletters will be sent at the chosen time and contain the events taking place within the next 24 hours following the newsletter time.
    • "Weekly" newsletters will be sent at the chosen day of the week and time, and contain the events taking place within the next week following the newsletter time.
    • "Monthly" newsletters will be sent at the chosen day of the month and time, and contain the events taking place within the next month following the newsletter time.
      I.e For a newsletter configured as monthly on 12th day at 1pm, the events included will be the ones that take place between that day and time and 11th day of the next month at 12.59pm.
  • Limit the events to be included in the newsletter to the ones that are part of certain categories (i.e."Sports" and "Soccer" ), tags ("Free" and "Outdoors"), etc by selecting the desired values from the dedicated fields. If you want to include the events from all categories, leave the field blank, and the same with all other filter groups.
  • Enter "Email Subject" as the subject for the newsletter email.
  • Type in a custom content that you would like to be included in the newsletter. It will be displayed before the listing of the events.

Sending a single email

  • Choose "Single Email" under "Select type" field.
  • Select the Mailchimp list that you want this newsletter to be sent out to.
  • Enter "Email Subject" as the subject for the newsletter email.
  • Type in a custom content that you would like to be included in the newsletter. It will be displayed before the listing of the events.
  • Limit the events to be included in the newsletter to the ones that are part of certain categories, tags, etc by selecting the desired values from the dedicated fields. If you want to include the events from all categories, leave the field blank, and the same with all other filter groups.
  • Selected or deselect individual events from the filtered list.
  • Click "Send Email" to send it right away!
